With the increased expectations that the (younger, tech-savvy) buying public now have regarding the use of Mobile Commerce (including wearable technology) within their retail experience just how much technology is essential in todays in-Store Systems environment, and how should retailers be responding. NFC does not work if everybody shops online and requires enabled, smart technology from the shopper , nobody has designed a multi-function “ME-Card” which could hold all of the Big-Brother required information (I wonder why that is!) and even Amazon now has a dedicated store-front, and ebay has click and collect with Argos. So PLEASE someone, tell me what the next phase will be? Will it be delivered by free beacons (Appflare) or by drones or the Royal Mail. Or are we seeing ways for traditional retail to transform but stay the same?
